Hello there! This will be my inaugural post so I figure I’ll stick to a nice and simple “recipe”. Not really a recipe…more of a how-to guide to potstickers. Some day when I’m adventurous enough,I’ll post a recipe for dumplings and link it here but for now,we’ll assume that you’ve got your hands on some frozen pre-made dumplings.
Ingredients:
- Frozen pot stickers
- 2 tbsp oil
- 3/4 –1 cup water
Directions:
- Start by putting the oil in your favorite frying pan. Make sure you have a lid or a smaller frying pan that can serve as a cover.
- Arrange the potstickers in the frying pan so that they all are touching the surface of the pan.
- Pour in the water.
- Turn the heat to high and cover the pan. Step away for 10 minutes. Do not open the cover!
- Remove the lid. There should be some water remaining. Wait 1-2 minutes for the remaining water to boil off.
- At this point the dumplings are ready. If you would like your dumplings more crispy, you can turn the dumplings over to the other side for one minute.
- Serve!
And there you have it! I serve my potstickers with some dipping sauce made from combining soy sauce, black vinegar, sesame oil,and sriracha. I don’t have exact proportions for that but it’ll largely depend on your taste. Enjoy!

What’s a potsticker?? I only see dumplings
potstickers are dumplings that have been pan-fried =)
Ooooooo I just called those fried dumplings…. *slaps head.. wat a noob
I like this entry. It’s so practical. How about a simple soup/stew recipe next? Something a guy could make. =)
I’ll admit I was impressed but rob’s dumpling cooking efficiency last time i was over and I like your picture of the shoyu dipping sauce! Very thorough.
