We’d like to throw out a crude list of the places we <3 here in NYC. This list will be edited and updated…hopefully. If you ever visit NYC,give these places a try!

Totto Ramen- best. ramen. ever. amazing Paitan (chicken broth) ramen.
Ippudo - delicious Tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen. be prepared to suffer the longest wait-time known to man.
Halal Chicken &Rice –you can find these halal carts on more street corners than hotdog carts now in NYC. get the original at 53rd st at 6th ave.
Katz’s Deli –their Pastrami on rye is a New York classic
Ess-a-Bagel –Everything Bagel with Salmon cream cheese = heaven.
Torrisi Italian Specialties –wonderful rotating italian-american fare
Lombardi’s - coal-fired oven pizza. thin crispy crust pizza,order by the pie.
NY Pizza Suprema –no-fuss plain cheese slices with an amazingly fresh sauce,Sicilian slice is excellent
Artichoke Pizza –artichoke &spinach dip on a pizza slice –sooo deliciously bad for you
Doughnut Plant –their doughnuts beat the hell out of any other donut you’ve ever eaten. try their Peanut Butter &Jelly yeast doughnut and any of their seasonal flavors.
Chikalicious - cupcakes with a perfect delicate frosting
Asian/Ocean Jewel –fresh,frugal,and fabulous dim sum mecca,off in the faraway land of Flushing,Queens.
Jing Fong –best dim sum in Chinatown,which is to say it’s not nearly as good as Ocean Jewel,but beggars can’t be choosers
Shake Shack –hyped-up burgers are ok but def get one of their specialty Concretes
Daisy May’s –Flinston-ian Beef Rib,need I say more?
Zabar’s - one-stop shop for jewish goodies:cheese,bread,deli meats
BCD Tofu House –spicy korean seafood Soondoobu
Yuka - all-you-can-eat good sushi for cheap
Splurge:
Morimoto –Innovative Japanese by Masaharu Morimoto. dressy casual,younger crowd,good place to take foodie friends. get the Omakase Tasting Menu for $120.
Del Posto –4-star Italian by Mario Batali. grand interior,dressy attire,but non-stuffy service,good place to take the parents. get the lunch prix-fixe special for $29
Colicchio &Sons –modern american by Tom Colicchio
Babbo - cozy date-spot Italian resto by Mario Batali
To Try:
The Spotted Pig,John Dory Oyster Bar,The Breslin –I am so proud of Chef April Bloomfield but I have yet to go to any of her restaurants. definitely going to hit up their brunch.
Mile End - Montreal-style smoked meat sandwiches,their equivalent to a NY Pastrami
Kin Shop –ridiculously good thai food
Osteria Morini –Michael White’s ode to pasta and lard *drooooool*
Traif - Elegant american food,bacon doughnuts are mind-blowing
Bianca –cheap good pasta
Marea - Michael White Italian,mad expensive though
Locanda Verde - another high-end italian place,has good meatballs
Esca,Lupa –we are Mario Batali fanboys/girls and we’re proud of it.
Baked - why oh why are you in Red Hook,Brooklyn!? too damn far. need a car.
Two Little Red Hens –bakery where we must try EVERYTHING
La Isla –strawberry stuffed french toast
5 Napkin Burger –the best burger you will ever have and probably the last thing you will ever eat.
Bridge Cafe –it’s super close to us but we’ve been too lazy/cold/lazy to get out of our apartment
