Ingredients:3 c. flour 1 1/2 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp + 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tbsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 1/2 sticks butter cut into 1/4″pieces 1 1/4 c buttermilk 1 large egg, beaten Directions:Preheat oven to 425 degrees Mix dry ingredients except butter Add butter and mix until the mixture has a coarse texture Stir in cream until a moist dough forms Knead on floured surface and flatten to 1/2″thick Cut out rounds,re-knead and repeat until no more rounds can be cut out Brush the tops of the biscuits with a light coating of the egg Put in oven and cook for 15 minutes or until tops are golden brown. I suspect these biscuits will make a cameo in a recipe very soon…
